Privacy Policy

Torch sal (hereafter referred to as “Torch sal”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides this Privacy Policy to inform you of our policies and procedures regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal information we receive from users of www.torch.academy (the “Site”).

This Privacy Policy applies only to information that you provide to us through all channels – paper, email, website or verbal . This Privacy Policy may be revised periodically without further notice to you and this will be reflected by a “last modified” date below. Please revisit this page to stay aware of any changes. Your continued use of the Site constitutes your agreement to this Privacy Policy and any future revisions.

Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms of Use.

As used in this Privacy Policy, the terms “using” and “processing” information include using cookies on a computer, subjecting the information to statistical or other analysis and using or handling information in any way, including, but not limited to collecting, storing, evaluating, modifying, deleting, using, combining, disclosing and transferring information within our organization or among our affiliates or internationally.

Please read our Privacy Policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your personally identifiable information in accordance with our Site.

Your use of the Site and any personal information you provide on the Site are subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use. By accessing, browsing or using the Site, you acknowledge that you have received, read, understood and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy and any updates.

 

1. International Transfer

Your information may be transferred to - and maintained on - computers located outside of your city, state, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the privacy laws may not be as protective as those in your jurisdiction. Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.

2. Personally Identifiable Information

When you register with us through the Site and become a Registered User or when you wish to post any User Submissions, we will ask you for personally identifiable information. This refers to information about you that can be used to contact or identify you (“Personal Identity Information”). Personal Identity Information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, educational background, professional background or other details required to provide you with access to the services of the Site.

You may be able to register to join by logging into online accounts you may have with third party service providers (“SNS”)(e.g. Linkedin); each such account, a “Third Party Account”, via our Site as described below. As part of the functionality of the Site, you may link your Account with Third Party Accounts, by either: (i) providing your Third Party Account login information to Torch sal through the Site; or (ii) allowing Torch sal to access your Third Party Account, as is permitted under the applicable terms and conditions that govern your use of each Third Party Account. You represent that you are entitled to disclose your Third Party Account login information to Torch sal and/or grant Torch sal access to your Third Party Account (including, but not limited to, for use for the purposes described herein), without breach by you of any of the terms and conditions that govern your use of the applicable Third Party Account and without obligating Torch sal to pay any fees or making Torch sal subject to any usage limitations imposed by the applicable SNS. If you decide to register by logging into a Third Party Account via our Site, we will obtain the Personal Identity Information you have provided to the applicable SNS from your Third Party Accounts and use that information to create your Account and you will become a Registered User. If there is information about your “contacts” or people with whom you are associated in your Third Party Account, the information we obtain about those “friends” or people with whom you are associated, may also depend on the privacy settings such people have with the applicable SNS.

We also collect other information that you provide as part of registration and the administration and personalization of your Account profile (“Non-Identifying Information”) (the Personal Identity Information and the Non-Identifying Information are hereinafter referred as “Information”).

3. Information Collection and Use

We may use the Personal Identity Information we collect from you when you register as Registered User, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey, surf the Site, apply to any of the Programs, access our training programs through software linked to the Site or use certain other site features.

Torch sal uses the Personal Identity Information you provide or that we collect to operate, maintain, enhance, and provide all of the features and services found on the Site and related to its programs and services. We may use your email address, without further consent, to provide you with updates on the status of any application you may have submitted, to inform you of major updates to Site, for administrative purposes, or to contact you regarding any information or other content that you have posted to the Site and for training and communication purpose if you are a trainee.

Torch sal uses all of the Information that we collect to understand and analyze the usage trends and preferences of our Users, to improve the way the Site work and look, and to create new features and functionality.

Torch sal may use certain of your Personal Identity Information, such as your name, educational background and professional experience for the purposes of the Programs.

Torch sal may use “automatically collected” Personal Information and “cookies” information to: (a) remember your information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit the Site; (b) provide customized third-party advertisements, content, and information; (c) monitor the effectiveness of third-party marketing campaigns; (d) monitor aggregate site usage metrics such as total number of visitors and pages viewed; and (e) track your entries and submissions.

4. Cookies

We use “cookies”. When you visit the Site, we may send one or more “cookies” - small data files - to your computer to uniquely identify your browser and let Torch sal help you log in faster and enhance your navigation through the Site. A cookie may convey anonymous information about how you browse the service to us, but does not collect personal information about you. A persistent cookie remains on your computer after you close your browser so that it can be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the Site. Persistent cookies can be removed by following your web browser’s directions. A session cookie is temporary and disappears after you close your browser. You can reset your web browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some features of the Site may not function properly if the ability to accept cookies is disabled.

5. Third Party Disclosure

Torch sal does not share your Personal Identity Information with other organizations for their marketing or promotional uses without your express consent. Please be aware, however, that certain Personal Identity Information provided to us in connection with your enrollment in the Programs will become available to the other participants and/or mentors of the Program and may be collected and used by such participants, subject to certain confidentiality obligations that Torch sal may impose from time to time.

Torch sal may disclose your Personal Identity Information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (i) comply with a legal obligation, (ii) protect or defend the rights or property of Torch sal, (iii) investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person or the public, violations of Torch sal’s Terms of Use, or (iv) protect against legal liability.

Torch sal may disclose automatically collected and other aggregate Non-Identifying Information with interested third parties to, among other things, assist such parties in understanding the usage patterns for certain content, services, advertisements, promotions, and/or functionality on the Site.

Torch sal may disclose User Personal Identity Information to affiliated companies, affiliate Software providing e-learning services or other businesses or persons to: provide web site hosting, maintenance, and security services; conduct data analysis and create reports; offer certain functionality; and assist Torch sal in improving the Site and creating new services features. We require that these parties process such information in compliance with this Privacy Policy, we authorize use of such Personal Identity Information, and we require these parties to use reasonable confidentiality measures.

6. User Rights

You may, of course, decline to share your Personal Identity Information with Torch sal, in which case Torch sal will not be able to provide to you some of the features and functionality found on the Site or the e-learning services. Please note that failure to provide certain Personal Identity Information to Torch sal may result in the termination of your participation in the Programs. If you are a Registered User with a registered account on the Site, you may update, correct, or delete your account information and preferences at any time by going to the profile section on the website.

To protect your privacy and security, we take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting you Account access or making corrections to your information. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your unique password and account information at all times.

7. Security

Our Site is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit to our Site as safe as possible. We use regular malware scanning.

Your Personal Identity Information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. 

We implement a variety of security measures when a Registered User applies to our Programs.

However, no communications over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, Torch sal cannot guarantee absolute security of your Personal Identity Information and you should take special care in deciding what Personal Identity Information you choose to provide.

If Torch sal learns of a security systems breach, then we may attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps. By using the Site or providing Personal Identity Information to us, you agree that we can communicate with you electronically regarding security and privacy issues relating to your use of the Site. Torch sal may post a notice on the Site if a security breach occurs. 

8. Third Party Links

Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services on our Site. The fact that we link to a website or present a banner ad or other type of advertisement is not an endorsement, authorization or representation of our affiliation with that third party, nor is it an endorsement of their privacy or information security policies or practices. We do not exercise control over third party websites. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our Site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

9. Children’s Privacy

Torch sal does not knowingly collect or maintain Personal Identity Information on the Site from persons under 13 years of age, and no part of the Site is directed to persons under 13. If you are under 13 years of age, then please do not use or access the Site at any time or in any manner. Any person who provides their Personal Identity Information to Torch sal through the Site represents that they are 13 years of age or older. If Torch sal learns that Personal Identity Information of persons less than 13 years of age has been collected on Torch sal without verifiable parental consent, then Torch sal will take the appropriate steps to delete this information.

10. Effective Date, Date Last Modified

This Privacy Policy is effective as of July 1, 2015.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to the Site or your use of the services or the Site, including this Privacy Policy, shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of Lebanon. The Privacy Policy will be interpreted in accordance with the laws of Lebanon.
